Cops: Gunpoint robbery at bagel store
Two men robbed a Northport bagel store at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, Suffolk County police reported.
Police said the men entered Cup O Joe Bagels at 707 Fort Salonga Rd. about 3:50 p.m. and approached the owner who was getting ready to close. The suspects, both with handguns, forced the victim into the back of the store and stole an unknown amount of cash, police said.
The men fled on foot, police said, and were last seen running northbound toward Laurel Avenue.
One suspect was described as clean-shaven, in his late 20s between 5 feet, 11 inches and 6 feet tall, with a muscular build, and short, light-brown hair. He was wearing jeans, police said, and a multicolored button-down shirt. The other suspect is also described as clean-shaven and in his late 20s, between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a muscular build and crew-cut dirty-blond hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a white tank top.
