Cops: Hampton Bays man critical after crash
A Hampton Bays man was in critical condition after he crashed his car into a tree Saturday morning near Munn's Pond County Park, Southampton Town police said.
Jonathan Frey, 27, was traveling west on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays at 4:37 a.m. when he lost control of his 1999 Toyota, which struck a tree on the roadway's south shoulder, police said.
Frey was taken by ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he was in critical condition with internal injuries, police said.
The road was partially closed for an hour while the accident was investigated.
