A handyman has been charged with stealing jewelry worth more than $50,000 from a Greenport home, according to Southold Town police.

Police said Adam Trzaskalski, 31, of Oakdale, was doing work inside the residence when he stole the jewelry on Nov. 16.

Trzaskalski was arrested Saturday. He is charged with second-degree grand larceny and is being held at the Southold Town Police Department in Peconic pending arraignment.

Detectives said they recovered numerous items stolen from the home. Further details were not available.
