Suffolk County police have made three arrests in connection with what may be a gang-related triple shooting Sunday outside a Huntington Station apartment building, a police spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said Friday that individuals were not being named and charges were not being released.

"The investigation is ongoing," the spokeswoman said.

A spokesman for the Suffolk County district attorney's office was not immediately aware of arrests being made in the case.

Three men were shot Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of the Lincoln Farm Apartments, at 123 First Ave., police said.

The three victims -- Darius Howard, 16, Devon White, 18, and Philip Perez, 22 -- were sitting in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee when eight to 10 men surrounded the vehicle, police said.

Police said at least two men fired handguns into the Jeep and then the group ran away.

Howard, of Greenlawn, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and a grazing wound to his head. Perez, of Huntington Station, was shot in his right arm, armpit and hand. White, also of Huntington Station, was hit in his groin.

Police said they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Huntington Hospital.

The investigation has led detectives to believe the shooting was gang-related, Suffolk Det. Sgt. Richard Auspaker said.

Police said those with tips can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
