Cops investigate shots fired into Mastic Beach home

Investigators are trying to determine who fired shots into a home in Mastic Beach on Sunday night before fleeing the scene in a car, police said.

No one was injured during the shots-fired incident, which Suffolk County police said took place on Edgewater Avenue just after 9 p.m.

Police said the shooter "appeared to be" on foot when the shots were fired, but then entered a vehicle and fled.

It was not immediately clear what evidence was recovered at the scene, but police confirmed shots were fired.
