A pedestrian in Kings Park was critically injured when she was struck by a car Wednesday night, Suffolk police said.

The victim, Britney Williams, 24, of Kings Park, was apparently in the middle of St. Johnland Road near Rumford Road about 8:15 p.m. when she was struck by a woman driving southbound on the roadway, police said.

Williams suffered severe head trauma and was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where she was admitted in critical condition.

The driver, Kings Park resident Valerie Conners, 48, was not injured in the crash.

Conners' 2012 Ford Fusion was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is ongoing.
