A knife-wielding man who robbed a convenience store in West Babylon early Tuesday was later arrested by First Precinct officers, Suffolk County police said.

A man entered the 7-Eleven at 901 Little East Neck Rd. at about 3:18 a.m. and stole cash, police said. The man was confronted by a store employee and brandished a knife, police said.

The man fled and was later arrested, police said.

The identity of the suspect was not immediately released.
