A search of a Laurel man's property led authorities to confiscate 57 marijuana plants, Riverhead Town police said Wednesday.

Anton Van Der Wetering, 43, of 550 Eagles Nest, is charged with growing marijuana without a license after the plants were found Tuesday at a Sound Avenue property in Riverhead.

Riverhead police and the East End Drug Task Force conducted the warrant and discovered the plants, police said.

Police said a box truck used to transport plants was impounded.

Additional charges are likely, the release said, pending analysis by the Suffolk County Crime Lab.

Arraignment information for Van Der Wetering was not immediately available.
