A Lindenhurst man was arrested Thursday on burglary charges after Suffolk County police said he broke into homes four times in a two-month period.

Bernie Deredita, 19, committed four break-ins -- all in Lindenhurst when people were not at home -- between September and November to steal jewelry, money, credit cards and other items, First Squad detectives said Friday.

Deredita twice burglarized the same house on Grand Avenue, in September and November, and also burglarized residences on Byrd Street and on North Indiana Avenue in October, police said.

Deredita, of North Erie Avenue, was scheduled to be arraigned Friday on four counts of second-degree burglary in First District Court in Central Islip.
