Cops looking for man who passed bogus traveler's check
Fourth Squad detectives are looking for a man who in February passed a counterfeit American Express Travelers Cheque at a Barnes & Noble in Lake Grove, Suffolk County police said.
On Feb. 6, at about 2:30 p.m., a man entered the Barnes & Noble store at the Smith Haven Mall and made a purchase using a counterfeit $100 American Express Travelers Cheque.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
