A fourth person has been arrested in the September abduction of a Mattituck man in a botched attempt to get back a stolen all-terrain vehicle, Southold Town police said Wednesday.

Anthony Infantolino, 18, was recently arraigned on second-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault in Southold Town Justice Court, police said in a release Wednesday.

He and three others abducted an 18-year-old Mattituck man from the Empire Gas Station on Route 25 in Laurel at about 1 p.m. on Sept. 1, police said. They believed the Mattituck man had stolen an ATV from them, police said at the time. But there was no evidence the victim was involved, police said.

The release did not give Infantolino's town or detail his role.

The abduction suspects "took the victim's cell phone and started calling anybody they could get a hold of," Det. Sgt. John Sinning said the time of the first arrests in September. "And then they told them, 'We're holding him until we get the ATV back.' "

The victim was taken to various places, then beaten up by a fifth suspect, a male, before he was driven to an area near Pier Avenue in Riverhead, where he was released, police said. The Mattituck man suffered two black eyes and bruises on his face and body, police said.

The other suspects arrested in the case were Elizabeth Lingerfelt-Bucalo, 53, of Jamesport; her son Conor Lingerfelt, 17, also of Jamesport; and Philip Trentacoste, 18, of Aquebogue.
