A West Babylon man was charged with driving while intoxicated after rear-ending another vehicle -- a crash that resulted in both vehicles rolling over -- on Sunrise Highway in West Islip early Saturday morning, police said.

Steven Sarvis, 27, was driving a Toyota Scion tC eastbound on Sunrise Highway near Exit 41 at about 12:07 a.m. when his vehicle rear-ended a Honda CR-V, causing it to overturn, Suffolk County police said.

Sarvis lost control of his car, which hit a guardrail and overturned, police said.

The Honda's female driver, who is from Holbrook, and male passenger, of Medford, were uninjured and refused medical treatment, police said.

Sarvis was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and was treated for a non-life-threatening injury to his knee. There were no passengers in the Scion.

Sarvis was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip, according to online court records.
