A Huntington Station man filed a false report Thursday about being robbed of his prescribed drugs in an attempt to get the medicine prescribed again, Suffolk County police said.

Anthony Cole, 22, of 289 Broadway, called 911 to report that a man robbed him of his backpack at 1 p.m. on Union Avenue in Holbrook and then fled on a BMX bicycle, police said.

But the officer who interviewed Cole concluded the story had been made up so he could obtain a police report to buttress an attempt to get more drugs, police said. Cole had listed his drugs as Xanax for anxiety and Citalopram and Trazadone for depression, police said.

Cole was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and will be arraigned at a later date.
