An Amagansett man is charged with felony forgery after police found him with fake tickets for the Hampton Jitney bus line, Southampton Town police said Monday.

Stratford Skalkos, 68, was arrested Wednesday on charges of forgery and theft of services, a misdemeanor, after he traveled that day from New York City to Bridgehampton, police said in a news release.

Police said Hampton Jitney employees became suspicious of Skalkos after he used what appeared to be a fake value ticket worth about $45.

When police went to the company's headquarters in Southampton they found Skalkos had several forged Jitney tickets and also possessed "what appeared to be the personal information of other unrelated individuals," according to a news release.

Skalkos is being held in Suffolk County Jail on $7,500 bail, police said.

Police ask that anyone with information call 631-702-2230.
