A Bay Shore man suffered critical injuries Sunday night when he was struck by a car in Brentwood, police said.

Jonathan Medina, 32, was in the roadway of Suffolk Avenue around 7:35 p.m. when he was hit by a 2005 Acura TSX, Suffolk County police said in a news release.

The Acura, driven by Carlos Murcia, 47, of Brentwood, was traveling eastbound on Suffolk Avenue near Brentwood Parkway, police said. Murcia was not injured and his vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Medina was in critical condition at Stony Brook University Hospital on Sunday night, police said.
