Cops: Man forced way into home, stole jewelry
Crime Stoppers and Fourth Squad detectives released a sketch Thursday of a man wanted for forcing his way into a Commack home and stealing jewelry.
Suffolk County police said the suspect rang a doorbell at about 10:25 a.m. Jan. 6 and then pushed his way inside after a woman answered the door.
The suspect, between 40 and 50 years old, knocked the woman to the floor and stole three rings she was wearing, police said.
A police spokesman could not immediately provide a value for the rings on Thursday.
The suspect left and drove away in a small, gray vehicle, police said.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
