A Lloyd Harbor man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning after officers raided a Huntington Station residence where he was found to be growing marijuana, police said.

Suffolk police executed a search warrant at the home on East 12th Street after a monthlong investigation in response to neighborhood complaints about "the smell of marijuana emanating from the house," police said.

About $5,000 worth of marijuana and items used for growing the plant were found during the 9:40 a.m. raid, police said.

"Numerous plants had been harvested prior to the execution of the search warrant," police said in a news release.

Keith Dalessio, 36, of 14 Crane Rd., Lloyd Harbor, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful growing of cannabis. He rents the house but does not live there, police said.

Dalessio was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip.

The house was "deemed unsafe for living," police said, and Huntington Town and LIPA representatives responded to the home "due to unsafe wiring in relation to extensive heating and ventilation equipment," police said.
