A woman pushing her 7-month-old in a stroller was attacked Sunday in Selden by a man who violently "grabbed her chest and backside," groping her, then fled when she screamed, police said.

Suffolk County police said the woman called 911 -- and the man was arrested near the scene a short time later.

Aquilino Villatoro, 31, of Selden, was charged with forcible touching, endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree attempted grand larceny and criminal obstruction of breathing. He is scheduled for arraignment in First District Criminal Court in Central Islip.

Police said the victim, whose identity is not being released, was pushing the stroller with her child in it along College Road at 9:15 p.m. when Villatoro ran up and grabbed her.

"He violently grabbed her chest and backside, clamped his hand over her mouth and tried to steal her cell phone," police said of the incident.

Police said she screamed, scaring him off, then called 911. They said Villatoro was found a short distance from the scene and was arrested after being identified by the woman.

The infant was not harmed.
