One person is dead after a two-car crash Friday night at Pidgeon Hill Road and Windham Drive in Huntington Station, police said.
A passenger in a black 2004 Acura was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not known, Suffolk police Sgt. Steven Surian said.
The unidentified driver of the Acura was badly injured and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, Surian said.
The other car in the 8:20 p.m. crash was a silver 2013 Toyota Sienna. The two adults and three children in that car were taken to Huntington Hospital with minor injuries, Surian said.
About 10:15 p.m. Friday, Pidgeon Hill Road was still blocked off as crime scene investigators worked in the dark to determine how the crash happened.
No charges had been filed and there is no criminality in the crash, police said.
