A Queens man threw himself an April Fool's Day bash at the East Hampton mansion of Sean "Diddy" Combs, law enforcement officials said, all without the hip-hop mogul's knowledge.
It was the second time Quamine Taylor has broken into the house to party like a star, authorities said. The last time Taylor trespassed at the home authorities said he was a 19-year-old from Brooklyn known as Quamine Wallace -- and Combs had just changed his name from "Puff Daddy" to "P. Diddy." That was 2001.
At the time of that arrest, media reports said Taylor, then Wallace, claimed he was a cousin of Combs. He isn't.
His mother told reporters then that her son had a history of mental illness. He was charged with criminal mischief. The outcome of that case was not immediately clear.
In the most recent incident, an arrest report obtained from the East Hampton Town Police Department shows that Taylor was arrested by officers at the home at 4:45 p.m. on April 1. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and petty larceny.
Taylor, of Springfield Gardens, was arraigned before Town Justice Lisa Rana in East Hampton and ordered held on $2,000 bail.
He was remanded to the Suffolk County jail.
According to the police report, officers responding to a call from a caretaker "knocked on the front door of the home" and "made contact" with Taylor. The officers escorted Taylor upstairs, where he dressed, and was interviewed.
Officers "discovered he had taken a train out from New York City, took a cab to the residence, entered through an unlocked basement door, consumed items, ate food, drank soda and liquor, and went to sleep in a bedroom upstairs," the arrest report states.
Authorities believe Taylor might have been at the house to celebrate his 30th birthday. He turned 30 on March 28.
Court records indicate Taylor also is facing March 20 marijuana-possession charges in Brooklyn.
The name of his public defender was not immediately available Friday morning.
