Cops: Man sought in Centereach bank robbery

Suffolk County police are looking for a man who robbed the Peoples United Bank in Centereach on Tuesday.

Police on Wednesday issued a photograph of the suspect taken from video surveillance cameras at the bank at 1919 Middle Country Rd.

They said the man came into the bank at about 9:50 a.m. and gave the teller a note announcing the robbery and demanding cash.

The teller complied, and the man took an unspecified amount of cash and ran north on Eastwood Boulevard, police said.
