A homeless man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing packages that were delivered to a West Babylon home and left on the door step, Suffolk County police said.

Christopher Breitkopf, 38, was arrested in West Babylon at 6:45 p.m. and charged with petit larceny. A homeowner's surveillance camera, which captured the image of a man walking up to the front door and removing two packages, helped police identify Breitkopf. The homeowner contacted police, who released the pictures to the media.

Breitkopf had shaved to change his appearance, police said.

He was held overnight at the First Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
