Cops: Man who escaped Suffolk police custody caught

Suffolk police said Thursday they arrested the Shirley man who escaped Sunday from the Fourth Precinct as he was being processed on drug-possession and resisting-arrest charges.
Michael Greco, 25, of 9 Corbin Ave., was arrested Wednesday in Bay Shore on a charge of first-degree escape, a D felony. He was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip on the escape charge, as well as drug-possession, conspiracy and resisting-arrest charges, according to online records. Greco was held yesterday pending bail of $500,050 bond or $250,050 cash.
Greco broke free about 10:20 a.m. from the precinct on Veterans Memorial Highway in Smithtown, police said. No other details were released, including the circumstances of his arrest and escape.
