A Maryland man stopped for speeding Saturday morning on Sunrise Highway in Southampton has been charged with drunken driving, State Police said.

Edwin Guarquila-Dolz, 25, of Baltimore, was pulled over on westbound Sunrise Highway near Exit 62 at about 6:21 a.m., police said Monday.

The trooper noticed watery, bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcoholic beverage, according a police report. Guarquila-Dolz provided a breath-analyzer sample of .15 percent and was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

Arraignment information was not immediately available, however, he is scheduled to appear in Southampton Town Court on July 26.
