Cops: Masked gunman robs money transfer store in Riverhead

Police are searching for a masked gunman who robbed a money transfer store Tuesday evening in Riverhead.

No one was injured in the robbery, Riverhead Town police said.

The robbery occurred at Damaris Multiservice, a store on East Main Street, at 7:14 p.m.

Police said a man, wearing a ski mask and holding a handgun, entered the store, pointed the gun at employees -- and demanded money. He was given cash and fled, police said.

Police did not say how much was taken in the robbery.
