A Medford woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car crash in Coram Monday evening, Suffolk police said.

Betty Lincon, 89, of 18 Birchwood Rd., was driving southbound on Route 112 when she apparently lost control, crossed the double yellow lines and struck a northbound car, police said.

A physician assistant pronounced Lincon dead shortly after the 6:15 p.m. crash, police said. Tanya Sydnor-Holmes, 45, of Bay Shore, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash on Route 112, south of Pauls Path, closed the roadway for several hours during the police investigation.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the crash to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
