Suffolk police are investigating a melee at a Rocky Point bar that left a 20-year-old Bronx man hospitalized with stab wounds.

Jason Jackson, a patron at the bar, was stabbed three times during the altercation and taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he is recovering and in stable condition, police said.

The altercation occurred early Saturday morning at The Edge, a bar on Route 25A, police said. Jackson was approached by several people at the bar and a fight ensued, police said.

The melee seemed to stem from Jackson's accidentally bumping into someone at the bar earlier in the night, police said.

Police are looking for anyone who witnessed the argument. Detectives ask that anyone with information call 631-852-8752 or 800-220-TIPS. Calls will be kept confidential, police said.
