Cops: Motor home driver charged with DWI in Mattituck
A harassment complaint at a North Fork vineyard led to the drunken driving arrest of a motor home driver Sunday in Mattituck, police said.
George F. Clancy, 59, of Southold, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Deep Hole Drive at 5:32 p.m., Southold Town police said.
Police said Clancy was stopped by officers after the motor home he was driving was observed failing to maintain its travel lane and for "insufficient signal" on a turn.
The initial incident involved a complaint at Pugliese Vineyard on Route 25 in Cutchogue, where police said a man "made threats" toward another patron then left in "a large motor home."
Police officers then observed Clancy operating a large motor home on westbound Route 25 and followed him.
Clancy faces arraignment Monday.
