A 21-year-old Eastport man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a Jeep that was making a left-hand turn in front of him Monday night in East Moriches, police said.

The motorcyclist, Kevin Capurso, was transported by East Moriches Community Ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the Jeep, Kyle Botts, 18, of Manorville, and two of his passengers also were transported by East Moriches Ambulance to Peconic Bay where they all were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Capurso was riding his 2017 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on East Moriches Boulevard and the 1999 Jeep, being driven eastbound on Valley Drive, attempted to make a left turn onto East Moriches Boulevard at about 6:20 p.m.

Police said the Jeep and motorcycle were impounded for safety checks and that the investigation was continuing.

The crash closed East Moriches Boulevard for about three hours, police said.
