A Smithtown man was killed Sunday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a car in Selden, Suffolk County police said.

Jared Tepperman, 21, was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. Authorities are seeking a second motorcyclist who was involved in the crash but fled the scene. Police did not immediately have information about the second motorcyclist’s role in the crash.

Tepperman was riding a 2001 Honda motorcycle northbound on Boyle Road at about 4:10 p.m., police said. He struck a 2010 Honda Accord, also driving northbound on Boyle Road, at the Hemlock Street intersection.

The Honda’s driver, Stacey Rios, 44, and her passenger, Daniel Loria, 45, suffered minor injuries, police said. Both are Selden residents.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
