A motorcyclist was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with unspecified injuries after an accident Wednesday evening on Route 114 in North Haven, police said.

The name of the motorcyclist was not released.

His condition was not known on Thursday.

Southampton Town police said the driver of a 2003 Jeep Liberty involved in the crash was not injured.

The accident occurred at 7:05 p.m. near the intersection of Fresh Pond Road, police said.

Police said the motorcyclist, on a 2000 Honda, was headed north on Route 114 when he struck the northbound Jeep.

Police officers from Southampton and Sag Harbor responded to the scene, as did Sag Harbor Ambulance and volunteers from the Sag Harbor Fire Department.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

No one was charged, but the accident remains under investigation, police said.
