Cops probe North Amityville missing-person report
Suffolk detectives are investigating the case of a missing 30-year-old woman whose disappearance was reported by her boyfriend in North Amityville early Monday morning, police said.
Det. Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky, commander of the Homicide Squad said, "We're investigating this as a missing person under suspicious circumstances."
A 31-year-old man who lives in an apartment in a warehouse on Seabro Avenue, called police shortly after 7 a.m. and said his girlfriend had disappeared a couple of hours earlier, police said.
Detectives say they believe there may have been a struggle at the scene prior to the woman's disappearance.
Crime Scene investigators were dispatched to the warehouse to gather any possible physical evidence, police said.
The warehouse is generally used for the storage of Halloween season-related merchandise. Police declined to give out the names of either the missing woman or her boyfriend.
