Cops: Officer hurt after patrol car crash

A Suffolk police officer sustained minor injuries after a collision in Commack Wednesday between his marked police car and a box truck, police said.
The officer was taken to St. Catherine of Sienna Medical Center in Smithtown for treatment, police said. The driver of the truck was not injured, police said.
The officer, whose name was not released, was responding with siren and flashing lights to an emergency call at 2:12 p.m., police said, when the collision with the truck occurred at the intersection of Larkfield Road and Brayton Court.
There were no charges filed, police said.
