A Fifth Precinct officer and a Holbrook medic revived a woman in cardiac arrest late Thursday in Holbrook, Suffolk County police said.

Police Officer Kevin Csoka responded to a call at Spruce Drive in Holbrook after an emergency call that a 46-year-old woman was having a seizure. Upon arriving at the house after 11 p.m., Csoka and Holbrook medic Keith Laidman determined that the woman was in cardiac arrest.

The two administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, restoring her pulse, and the woman, Karen Blakely, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue by Holbrook Rescue.

Police said in a news release Friday that she was listed in critical but stable condition.
