Cops: Passenger charged with marijuana possession
A Riverhead man was arrested Tuesday night, charged with marijuana possession, after police stopped the car he was in for speeding on Route 25 in Riverhead.
State Police said Korey Duff, 28, was a passenger in a white Hyundai when it was stopped in Riverhead. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled for arraignment in Town of Riverhead Court on Oct. 30.
Police said that during questioning of the driver, troopers "detected the odor" of marijuana coming from the vehicle -- and said a search recovered 129 grams of marijuana from the car. Police said Duff admitted the drugs were his and was arrested just before 10 p.m.
