Cops: Pedestrian hit by car in Riverhead

A pedestrian was injured Friday night after being hit by a car in Riverhead, police said.

East Main Street between McDermott and Ostrander avenues has been shut down since the 5:30 p.m. accident, Riverhead police said.

Details about the accident were not immediately available as detectives gathered evidence at the scene.
