Cops: Pedestrian killed in Coram hit-run was Medford man

The pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run during the weekend in Coram was tentatively identified Monday as a 37-year-old Medford man.
Suffolk police withheld the man's identity "pending positive identification" by detectives and the county medical examiner's office.
A vehicle struck the victim as he walked northward along Route 112 between Granny Road and Route 25, shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.
The driver fled the scene.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was originally from Guatemala, and his wife and children there have been notified, police said.
Vehicle parts collected at the scene are being analyzed to determine make and model, police said, but the vehicle was believed to be light-colored with front-end damage.
The investigation continues.
