A pedestrian was hit near the intersection of southbound 110 and Main Street in East Farmingdale at 5:52 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Credit: Paul Mazza

A North Amityville man was struck and killed by a car while crossing Route 110 in East Farmingdale on Friday evening, Suffolk County police said.

Wilfrid Bien-Aime, 68, was crossing 110 west to east about 5:50 p.m. when he was struck by a 2011 Nissan heading south just south of Great Neck Road, police said. Bien-Aime was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Abraham Sanabria, 55, also of North Amityville, was not injured and stayed at the scene, police said.

The Nissan was impounded for a safety check, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
