A Chase branch in Port Jefferson was robbed Thursday afternoon by a man who threatened to hurt someone if he did not get the cash, Suffolk police said.

The robber went into the bank at 120 Main St. about 1 p.m. and demanded cash from the teller, who complied, police said.

The suspect appeared to be in his early 40s, had dark, short hair and was about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, police said. He wore a black T-shirt and jeans, police said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
