Cops probe apparent drowning in Water Mill pool
Southampton Town Police are trying to determine how a man apparently drowned last week in a Water Mill pool and why he was at the house on Deerfield Road.
Police on Monday said Lizandro Lopez, 30, of Southampton Village, was found at the bottom of the residential pool at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Lopez apparently drowned, but his death is being investigated by the Suffolk County medical examiner and Southampton Town Police detectives, police said.
Police in a Monday release said the investigation includes "the cause of Mr. Lopez being at the residence."
