Police are investigating the Wednesday afternoon robbery of a Brentwood bank.

A man entered the Chase branch at 1800 Brentwood Rd. at about noon "and handed a teller a note threatening violence and demanding cash," Suffolk County police said in a news release.

The teller complied, and the robber fled on foot, heading west on Second Avenue, police said.

Police described the robber as in his late 20s or early 30s, with a medium build, and about 5 feet, 8 inches tall.

"He was unshaven and was wearing a black baseball hat, a black baseball jacket with the hood up, blue jeans and black Nike sneakers," police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call anonymously Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
