Suffolk County police are investigating a Sunday morning accident that left a man dead when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in Selden.

Travis Smith, 20, was riding a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Route 25 when Georgia Reeve, 83, of Coram, driving a 1997 Dodge sedan, made a left turn into the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy, Suffolk County police said.

The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of North Evergreen Drive, police said.

Smith, of Farmingville, was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said. Reeve was also taken to Stony Brook where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, officials said.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash and who has not been interviewed by detectives to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

All calls will be kept confidential.
