Suffolk police detectives are investigating a bank robbery in Holbrook Wednesday morning in which the thief fled on foot, police said.

The robber entered the Bank of America branch at 4400 Veterans Memorial Hwy. at 11:40 a.m., handed a note to a teller demanding cash, took the money from the teller, and fled south on Central Avenue, police said.

Police described the man as about 5 feet, 11 inches tall in his late 30s to early 40s, clean-shaven with a medium build.

"He was wearing a black hat with a logo referencing poker, dark sunglasses, a navy sweatshirt and dark pants," a news release said.
