Police are investigating the Tuesday morning robbery of a Lake Ronkonkoma bank.
A man entered Wells Fargo at 601 Portion Rd., at 10:07 a.m. "and handed the teller a note that demanded cash," Suffolk police said in a news release. "The teller complied with the demands and the man fled in a dark-colored Mazda sedan, traveling north on Cenacle Road."
Police described the man as "in his early 20s, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build, dark hair and was unshaven."
The suspect wore "a blue New York Yankees hat with a gray brim and both the team's logo and the word 'New York' written on it," police said. "He was also wearing large sunglasses, a black jacket with a zipper with a blue shirt and white shirt underneath and blue jeans."
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
