Suffolk police are investigating a two-car crash shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday in Nesconset that left a North Merrick man badly injured.

Robert Simone, 43, was driving his 2008 Mercedes east on Route 347, police said, when he collided with a 2001 Chevrolet sedan driven by Jordan Wolfson, 21, that was turning left onto Browns Road from the westbound lane of Route 347.

Wolfson was admitted in critical condition to Stony Brook University Medical Center, police said. Simone of Seaford, as well as four passengers in his vehicle, were taken to Stony Brook with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
