Detectives are investigating the early Thursday afternoon robbery of a North Babylon bank.

The robber entered the TD Bank branch at 1361 Deer Park Ave. at 12:20 p.m. and showed a teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk police said in a news release. The teller complied, and the robber fled.

The robber was described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6 feet tall, with an average build.

"He was wearing sunglasses, a two-toned, brown hooded sweatshirt and a black knit ski cap," police said.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
