Suffolk County detectives are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Smithtown Monday morning.

The man entered the Teachers Federal Credit Union Bank on Main Street about 10:30 a.m., told a teller he had a weapon and demanded cash, police said. He fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

The robber was described as a slim, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing an olive-green short brim hat, a hooded black sweatshirt, jeans and dark brown boots.

Police asked anyone with information on the robbery to call them anonymously at 800-220-8477.
