Second Squad detectives are investigating a bomb threat made Thursday at the East Northport Middle School, Suffolk County police said.

Students and staff at the school at 1075 Fifth Ave. were evacuated Thursday after the threat was found written in a boys bathroom, police and school officials said.

Parents were notified by email and an automatic telephone message that students and faculty were evacuated to nearby Trinity Regional School, a spokeswoman from the Northport-East Northport School District said.

Police said they received a call about the threat at 11:57 a.m. The school was searched but police found no evidence of a bomb, a police spokeswoman said.

The district said in a second email message Thursday afternoon that dismissal from Trinity Regional School would be at 3:12 p.m.

At about 5 p.m., Joanne Kroon, the school's principal, said in an email to parents that "The building will be open tomorrow morning for school at the usual time and we will have a normal schedule."
