Suffolk detectives are investigating a Wyandanch fire that started Tuesday at a house next to the home of a man found fatally shot Sunday, police said.

The blaze, at 25 State Ave., was reported just before 1:20 a.m., police said, and arson detectives were at the scene much of Tuesday.

The house sits next to 29 State Ave., where Desi Kingsberry, 30, a sanitation worker for a trash hauler contracted by Babylon Town, was found lying in the front yard just before 4 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Kingsberry, also an aspiring rapper, was shot in the head, police said, and homicide detectives are looking for his killer.

Arson detectives declined to connect the fire and the fatal shooting, a police spokeswoman said. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, she said, and detectives Tuesday afternoon have not yet said if it appears to be suspicious, saying it is an ongoing investigation.
