A Sayville man rode his bicycle to a pharmacy a half-mile from his home and robbed it using a shotgun, Suffolk County police said Friday.

Brian Bernard, 52, of 6 Bohack Ct., is charged with first-degree robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.

At about 9 p.m. on Feb. 27, Bernard entered the Rite Aid at 101 Main St. armed with a shotgun and demanded money from an employee.

The worker gave him an unspecified amount of cash, and Bernard fled the store on a bicycle.

Bernard was arrested Thursday after an investigation, police said.
